The introduction of ball valve

A ball valve is a type of quarter-turn valve that uses a hollow, perforated and pivoting ball to control the flow of liquids or gases through a pipe. The ball has a hole through its center, which allows fluids to pass through when the valve is open. When the valve is closed, the ball rotates 90 degrees to block the flow.

Ball valves were first introduced in the early 1960s and quickly became popular due to their reliability, durability, and ease of use. They are commonly used in industrial and commercial applications, as well as in residential plumbing systems.

One of the advantages of ball valves over other types of valves is their ability to provide tight shutoff, which helps prevent leaks and ensure efficient operation. They are also resistant to wear and tear, which makes them suitable for use in harsh environments or applications where frequent valve operation is required.

Ball valves come in a range of sizes and materials, including brass, stainless steel, and PVC, making them adaptable to a variety of different applications. Their versatility and reliability have made them a popular choice for controlling the flow of fluids and gases in many different industries.
